Joint Aviation Authorities Standards
The JAA is an associated body of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) representing the civil aviation regulatory authorities of a number of European States who have agreed to cooperate in developing and implementing common safety regulatory standards and procedures. The JAA is responsible for the development and application of common provisions (so called Joint Aviation Requirements-JARs) as well as of procedures concerning the safety and operation of aircrafts. The JAA develops and adopts JARs in the field of aircraft design and manufacture, aircraft operations and maintenance, and the licensing of aviation personnel. Some JARs pertinent to the articles of this newsletter follow:
