The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved the SAE Institute Aviation Maintenance Fundamentals (AMF) Certification Preparation and Technical Refresher Training Course for inspection authorization renewal and FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards credit.
The course is part of the SAE Institute/Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) certification program.
This course can be tailored to provide up 24 hours of FAA-accepted training in preparation to take the aviation maintenance specialist (AMS)/aviation maintenance engineer (AME) certification exam. Training can be time-customized for organizations, offered in one-, two- or three-day segments, according to the SAE Institute.
"We are pleased to have FAA acceptance of this important preparation and refresher course," said Brian Finnegan, director of the SAE Institute professional certification program.
"This course will enable experienced, certificated technicians to validate the knowledge they have gained over the years, and it will enable those who are not yet certified to reinforce the fundamental basics of aviation maintenance they have learned, resulting in increased productivity and safety," Finnegan said.
