ADS-B Technologies LLC completed its fifth automatic dependent surveillance - broadcast (ADS-B) universal access transceiver (UAT) ground broadcast transceiver (GBT) site for the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) in China.
"With five ground stations and more than 110 aircraft avionics installations already completed, this is certainly the largest end-to-end ADS-B deployment in Asia, perhaps the largest in the world, other than the [U.S. Federal Aviation Administration's] Capstone Program in Alaska," said Skip Nelson, ADS-B Technologies president and CEO.
ADS-B began installing ground stations and aviations in June and has since accumulated more than 30,000 flight hours of ADS-B experience.
"By networking the ground stations, an advisory controller at one airfield can now see an aircraft taxiing at another airport more than 800 km away," Nelson said.
The project consists of:
- Five GBTs.
- Flight following displays.
- 150 aircraft avionics installations.
- Custom cockpit displays.
- A training program.
The project is scheduled for completion by the first of the year.
