Scope:
This CID covers tanks mounted on trailers intended for
receiving, vacuum pick-up, temporary storage, ground transport, and gravity
draining of recoverable fuel: these will herein be referred to as the unit.
These units are commonly referred to as bowsers. The units fulfill the
requirements for standardized family of bowsers for general flight line and
maintenance facility use. The units are intended for general flight line use
in support of aircraft servicing and maintenance when temporary storage of
fuel is requested, draining and depuddling aircraft fuel tanks in support of
aircraft fuel cell and tank maintenance, removing fuel spills, pumping-out
hydrant pits, and the like.
