Scope:
This document establishes qualification and quality requirements
for crystalline silicon and gallium arsenide single, dual, and
triple junction solar cell families for space applications. This
includes requirements for solar cell manufacturer quality systems
and for characterization of solar cells. Requirements for
acceptance testing of lots are not defined in the current version
of this document.
A solar cell family may be qualified to Geosynchronous Earth
Orbit (GEO), Low Earth Orbit (LEO) or both under this standard.
Tests or characterizations in the standard that do not mention GEO
or LEO are, in any event, required.
