Scope:
REISSUANCE AND PURPOSE
This Instruction:
Supports the provisions of current legislation in references
(a) and (b) regarding access to secondary school campuses and student
directory information.
Reissues reference (c) as a DoD Instruction according to the
guidance in reference (d). It updates policy, guidance, and responsibilities
concerning the collection, retention, and use of secondary school student
directory information for military recruiting purposes.
APPLICABILITY
This Instruction applies to the Office of the Secretary of
Defense, the Military Departments (including their Reserve components, and the
Coast Guard by agreement with the Department of Homeland Security when it is
not operating as a Service in the Navy). The term "Military Services," refers
to the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Marine Corps, and the Coast Guard.
