Scope:

This specification covers bath type, electrically heated, heat treating furnaces of the round and rectangular pot design with equipment and accessories specified in section 3. The requirements set forth in this specification and the completed ordering data (paragraph 6.2) establish the Government's minimum requirements for each procurement.

The furnaces shall be of the following types, classes and of the sizes listed in Tables I, II, III, IV and V. The types, classes and sizes to be furnished shall be as specified (see 3.5 and 6.2).

    Type I - Round Pot, External Resistance Heated
      Class A - 600° F to 1650° F operating temperature

    Type II - Rectangular Pot, Electrode Heated
      Class A - 600° F to 1200° F operating temperature
      Class B - 1200° F to 1700° F operating temperature
      Class C - 1700° F to 2400° F operating temperature

    Type III - Rectangular Pot, Immersion Resistance Heated
      Class A - 350° F to 750° F operating temperature
