Description:
The Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Technical Architecture (JTA) is intended to help achieve weapon systems interoperability and an open systems approach to weapons-system design. JTA documents authorizes end-items of material for units operated jointly by two or more military assistance advisory groups and missions. This collection features mutually agreed upon international or industry specifications from Standard Development Organizations (SDOs) for common use across military technical systems. The SDOs in this collection include:

  • ANSI (American National Standards Institute)
  • IEEE (Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers)
  • IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force)
  • ISO (International Standards Organization)
  • ITU-T (International Telecommunications Union)
  • NATO-STANAG (NATO Standardization Agreements)
  • SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers)
Contracted systems of information technology (IT), internet utilization, telecommunications, computer graphics, and audio and visual transmissions rely on these standards to generate technical conformity and compatibility between different authorities.

Online Access - Subscribers get secure online access to search, view, bookmark, track, and print documents according to the license agreement. Online documents are updated daily. Multiple users can share a single license. You also get access to IHS Standards bibliographic data – more than 1 Million documents.

Individual Documents - IHS sell individual documents through the IHS Store in electronic or hard copy formats. Statistics show that 1 out of every 5 people who purchase individual documents would benefit from an online subscription. You should consider a collection over individual document purchases if your company buys more than $3,000 in standards per year.
